Amused

Of what
do muses
dream?
relaxed and still
considered
rendered
reduced
abstracted...

she is a puzzle
to be solved
and wonders if
there is a challenge
in the expression
of her skin
a rill of flowing mane
a landscape of
hip and waist
rolling down to
a mesa of shins
a scrabble of toes

needing the light
loving the shadow
together contrasting her contours
of dreams and reality
that in their turn
are her puzzle to be solved

she lays along the line of light
playing to her best side
and lives to inspire
disrobes to disarm
sleeps in the warm regards
of Rembrandt palettes
and morning sun

What you can do with a few lines, m'dear, is just fantastic. (That applies to the poetry as well as the drawing...)

Girl, you do kick ass, as laurab said, with the poetry and the artwork. I think I'd rather have you draw me, than that evil John Cox.

Yes, dear. He was quite drunk when he drew all of us.

People forget that alcohol is a muscle-relaxer. It's why singers can't sing when drunk. Artists can't draw when drunk, either, else everything would look like Picasso or Dali.

You are a duette of many talents. Are you an artist for a living?

Thanks and yes. I am an artist of sorts at work; I regularly turn sow's ears into silk purses.

Thanks, Laura.

I need a whole afternoon to watch all the cool vids you posted on your site. The Jawja meet sure set me back on posting. Glad you took up the slack for me.

:o)

More...please.

I found gold in pocket Sunday, and learned you had blessed me.

Aye. Gold doubloons are good booty. Did ye get one that said, "arrgghh!" on it?

:o)

Joan! Just found you this weekend... 100+ posts...?... not sure how I didn't find your hideout before now, might have something to do with having zero slack lately - primordial or otherwise.

I'm enjoying it now though, soaking up the Art - visual and textual.

Gotta love the blog title too.

"...but haven't found my "voice" yet"

Yeah... riiight.

Interesting. Are you a sculptor? I envy people who work at things they enjoy.

Hey Van! I've not been hiding too much. Glad you made it over here to my little town on the 'net.

Nonny, I basically work in a circus. Spreadsheets, reports, ghost stories, weird phone calls, ancient building, freaky co-workers (and that's just the living ones) and we do it all while juggling.

:o)

Thanks, Julie. I tried out that police sketch thingy, but I'm not as brave as you...
