Is June Over Yet?

Today is the J.R.'s birthday, and tomorrow is our 29th Anniversary.

Whadday think: should I quit introducing him as my first husband? Too soon to tell?

And what's it like being married to Ms. Argghh! for forever? What did the poor guy do to deserve such a fate? Ah... you'll have to ask him yourself.

But today, I am a Goddess, a Queen, a Rock Star -- his words, not mine. Says it's his best.birthday.ever. He doesn't even mind the sunburn!

You may leave the Jolly Roger your best birthday wishes and/or deepest sympathies in the comments.

So no one went for the easy Jolly Rogering joke yet? Well, allow me to be the first to plumb those depths. So to speak. God, where's the door?

Seriously, have a damned fine time!! Congrats!!!

I know, Laura! I've left a perfect setup in this post, and everyone is showing themselves to be above the easy targeting. Thankfully, you came along! Hahahaha!!

BTW, anyone reading this, if you love really excellent writing, you must go visit Laura at her place. Damn good stuff. Makes me want to move to Texas.

Congrats you kids! Hope you have as many as me and sweetthing have put together..been married since Dec 30, 1963..and shacked up several months before that.

Can you imagine anyone putting up with me for 45 years?

Thanks, all.

Guy, just as long as we get as much of a kick outta watching tree rats in heat as you and Sweetthing do!

I guess it's better than introducing him as the Future Ex-Mr. Slack. Give him a wet birthday kiss for me since, well, I don't kiss dudes, and shit.

Well, your words say "no" but your flirty dirndl isn't backing up that claim, Vman!.

However, I will convey your best to JR. Thanks!

Oooh! Tell the J.R. that I send a birthday smooch. Hugs to you, too.

See both of you in Helen in October?

A slightly belated Happy Birthday to JR... I'd say something about getting a sunburn from basking in your glow... but the words won't work thru my brain right now (too little sleep last night - heh)

Happy Anniversary to you kids. You're only a few months behind my husband and me. We celebrated number 29 in March. We have begun to think that this might last...

Am I too late to the party?

Happy Birthday (belatedly) to J.R.

And congratulations to the two of you. As to whether you should stop introducing him as your first husband...I've a couple of friends who've been married for about as long as you two and he still talks of his wife as "my bride." Makes me smile everytime I hear him say it.

(My bride and I will celebrate our 36th this August.)
