Stirring the Gypsy Imagination

I don't know why I must have one of these. I just want a Shepherd's Hut.

I suppose it would lose its appeal parked in driveway of my marsh-view condo in the summer. But it causes me to dream of rolling green hills dotted with placid sheep and blessed by cool breezes. And it's fully insulated with sheep's wool, as well. Cozy in winter. Just need a wi-fi connection and it would make the perfect blogging hut!

That's the upscale version of our local canvas homes.

The old Basque boys out here would have thought they'd died and gone back to Spain with one of these Wool M'Art models. Hell, I want one too.

A hut with wheels in the middle of a storm...on rolling hills? I dunno, Joanie...sounds like you'd go careening into the aether, or a tree.

Gypsies and pirates. Yeah, that works.

That reminds me of something out of Wind in the Willows. Didn't Mr. Toad go for a wild ride in one of those?

One of my woodworking magazines had a story about a guy in Nebraska or somewhere who builds/refurbishes these things. Handsome and cozy looking vehicles.

Toasty in the winter, but hotter than three hells in the summer! That's a pretty small window for those cool breezes. Holy crap. I'm starting to sweat... Heh.

OK, I just spent the last 10 on their site and I think that Eric needs one of these in his back yard. They are very FUN.

I thought Mr. Toad careened in a jalopy of some sort.

And we prefer to be called Roma, thank you very much.

A perfect getaway...as long as the kids don't hook it up to the riding lawnmower and leave me somewhere...

Roma? You're about as Italian as Rome, Georgia, Vman.

Velociman said...

Roma, dammit! Gypsies.

Geek cred, indeed.

Joan of Argghh! said...

I know full well that Roma means, but I never let facts get in the way of a good joke at Georgia's expense.

Besides, I just had some kid ask me if he should tell his significant other that he has crabs.

My reply? Only if she's human!

You never tell someone you have crabs. You show them.
