Am I hearing things?

The "Mosquito Tone Test" will tell you what you don't want to know: kids have better hearing. And they're way too smart. They have learned to set their cell phones to a 17Kh sine wave tone that most adults (and teachers) over 30 cannot hear. Brats.

I'm not having a problem hearing all the tones on the test, save the one at 16Kh. Jump over there and read the fascinating article and try out the Whipper-Snap-0-Meter. Use the results to your advantage. It's bloggy fun for the whole family and one less thing to argue about.

You really aren't hearing things.

I could hear everything below 17Kh, which surprised me, given that my hearing is beginning to head south.

Yeah, the J.R. could hear all but the 16 and 18Kh which surprised me since he seems to not hear anything I say!

:o)

Damn those meddling kids.

Wow. I could easily hear all of them; this totally shocked the hell out of me because I just turned into a quinquagenarian. Just goes to show you that listening o Rob Zombie is good for you.

Strangely, I could hear up to 14 kHz, then nothing up to 17 kHz which I heard.

I could hear all of them. Crying babies in the middle of the night I never could hear...

I could hear the 17kHz if I knew to listen for it. Otherwise, I would have tuned it out...is that how I tune out my teens?

I almost always have a ringing in my ears that is strangely close to the 15 kHz sound, and I couldn't hear anything beyond that; I guess I was around too many things that went BOOM.

At the same time, I sit bolt-upright as soon as that key hits the lock when my wife gets home from work at 3:30 a.m., or when my daughter puts her foot on the first step on the stairs in the middle of the night.

I may not hear well, but I hear well enough.

I could hear them all - and I must say they make my skin crawl. I used to have to leave some stores because their alarms would make these kinds of sounds. LOL. Now that I don't go into many stores, I don't have that problem anymore. ;-)

Yes...one of my kids said something like that...brat. I could hear the tone, but only when listening for it. They do love to torture us, do they not?
