Updated: "Civilian National Security Force"

SHOCKING. Just when you think he can't say anything more frightening. This is real, and it should stop you in your tracks; Democrat, Republican, Independent, Media, everyone. Let's put aside our differences about who is selfish or overpaid or undeserving, and let's agree that this is the worst idea to ever be uttered seriously on our soil:

He's already guessed that our Armed Forces won't carry out his Almighty and Unopposed Will, so he wants friendlies in his corner. Down the line, we'll have a Civil War to rival them all.

Even scarier? The people present seem to know what he's talking about, not surprised or even asking for an explanation.

Who the hell is this man listening to, that would tell him such an idea is good for a Republic?

h/t to the SeaBlogger, who rightly calls it "Obamilitia."

Meanwhile: Yes, I'm unafraid to link the Vman, who nails it rather succinctly.

Mike Wilson says his fashion sense has no room for an armband. Heh.

Peggy Noonan must be drinking heavily tonight. And Chrissy Buckley, too. Have they bought into "access" the way CNN did in Iraq? Are they listening to Wagner as they slip into a blissful unawareness of their weakness?

Update: Looks like Obama's "force" already has its first bit of hardware:

The Newest Google Plane is a Fighter Jet.

Most of the crap he comes out with is scary but this gave me goosebumps. Not in a good way.

That's when the balloon goes up and I, along with many others start breaking things.

That's from a July 2008 speech, and if I remember correctly, Obama had deviated from the teleprompter when he was talking about his "civilian national security force." When he gets off the approved script, he seems to speak about what he truly believes, and it is a scary vision.

This excerpt below is from about two months later. IBD touched on this in one of their editorials after the Democratic Convention, noting the Public Allies group that the Obamas are tied to.

Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife became executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993. Obama plans to use the nonprofit group, which he features on his campaign Web site, as the model for a national service corps. He calls his Orwellian program, "Universal Voluntary Public Service."

Big Brother had nothing on the Obamas. They plan to herd American youth into government-funded reeducation camps where they'll be brainwashed into thinking America is a racist, oppressive place in need of "social change." [...]

The government now funds about half of Public Allies' expenses through Clinton's AmeriCorps. Obama wants to fully fund it and expand it into a national program that some see costing $500 billion. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the military, he said.

The gall of it: The Obamas want to create a boot camp for radicals who hate the military — and stick American taxpayers with the bill.

Don't forget to focus on the local elections, too. City council, mayor, soil and water commissioners, judges, and more are all on the ballot here, and they will shape policy locally. They will be the ones who implement Obama-type education programs with zeal, or half-heartedly just for the funding. They will spend local money on feel-good make-work programs, or on roads and other vital infrastructure. And these locals are usually that pool from which the state and federal candidates will come from in the next few years. We're going to need to build from the bottom in order to have quality people to move up to the top.

Nice, Joan. Don't quit.

Did you notice the two guys sitting in back of Him wearing veteran ball caps? If they really are veterans, I have to wonder what the f*ck is the matter with them applauding that demented shit.

This is a very good example of how you can work with the community to ensure that a species can be (strike>extinguished,(/strike) conserved.

Stock up on ammo.

Goggle has a fighter jet? F***ing
unbelievable.
Thanks, USMC, for your informative comment. I lifted it and posted it on my blog for the few that do read it.

Pardon my naivete. I thought the National Guard served as a civilian defense force, when not pressed into active military service. Am I wrong on that? Then there are state militias as well. What do we need brown shirts for again?

... sorry, blue shirts!

I have a theory that ideas like this are just red herrings Obama is throwing out there. I expect a flood of legislation out of the new Congress, and while Republicans are figgting the truly batshit crazy propsals like this, and the citizenry is outraged about this kind of fucking lunacy, Obama's true agenda (universal health care, cap and trade, etc.) will sail through Congress because they will seem pleasantly rational after the Bad Craziness of the other shit. You can only fight a war on so many fronts, and the GOP will be locked up with the nutbag shit. Just a thought I'm fleshing out.

P.S. Thanks for the link. I figured nobody would touch the Herr Schiklbama post!

I wish I could believe that, but I think you should go with your gut instincts on that Herr Schiklbama post.

Besides, Schiklbama sounds almost like my maiden name. I know crazy when I hear it.

You guys are funny. Toss in a little "if this guy gets elected and I'm moving to Canada," and my entire week's humor quotient will be met.

P.S. I kid you not, my word verification is "jokedis."

Easy to say my dear 'mouse, but like Obama, you provide nothing of substance, no tooth of substance.

I ain't leaving, btw. Any references made to hunkering down, buying ammo, and gasing up the car are purely a satirical reflection of the Left of 4 years ago. We're still waiting for Alec Baldwin to leave.

I know, JofA. I know.

But really, I had to put up with Cheney and the Military Industrial Complex getting a trained monkey elected. Twice.

So now if we all have to put up with whatever-this-turns-out-to-be the "MSM" and the Inevitable Backlash have gotten elected, well then, so it goes.

Meanwhile, I'm glad you and your small arms stand between me and say, Miami/Cuba.

Whoa, 'mouse. I'm just reciting Obama's words, words that the MSM has no interest in. I'm not even spouting a "conspiracy" theory. This is just plain old desire for access.

But if believing that George Bush is a trained monkey makes you feel like you've won your point, Counselor, I submit for the jury's consideration that there has been no evidence presented to this court by your prosecution to merit any serious consideration.
