Wherein Newt Gingrich Agrees with My Assessment of the Situation

Newt Gingrich:

“Wal-Mart doesn’t get ahead by attacking Sears but by offering better value.”

It's still remains to be seen what "better value" looks like, how it will be packaged, what its advertising will accomplish and how it will be widely distributed.

We're only a generation or two behind. We'd best get on it, hadn't we?

Telling people how bad the other side is exactly and exclusively what got Obama elected.

The "change" is "I'm not Bush; John McCain is Bush."

The Democrats in '06 ran against Bush. The media for eight years has been bashing Bush.

The reason it doesn't work for us is that deep down people still believe what they seen on TV. They still identify with Brian, Katie and Charlie rather than the bloggers and the web pundits.

Those guys along with Anderson Cooper, et al, are still regarded as newsmen, and Hannity is still a political mouthpiece.

They will buy an SNL portrayal over the truth. Mencius or one of his commenters pointed out that the left has substituted Arthur Miller's The Crucible for the actually history of Joe McCarthy and HUAC.

This is very true of all leftists. They can't seem to tell the difference between an "artistic assertion" and a fact. Ray does it all the time when he references back to his own statements or quotes Mark Twain to "prove" his point.

My excuse is I have been miserably sick for the last two days. Yesterday death would have been an improvement.

"what they have seen"

"actual history"

are all that I see at the moment.
