I Just Can't

I can't read one more outrageous thing in the news. Obama's ACORN Brownshirts confiscating foreclosed homes, his new Office of Urban Affairs (aka ACORN writ large), nationalization of banks. I don't recognize our country any more.

It's not mere disagreement. It's diametrically opposed world views creating a rift that cannot be bridged with wishing.

And should not be bridged, either.

Deep breaths... here, let me redirect to something more poignant:

Why do "liberals" hate freedom so much? Were they that much the losers in high school that glomming onto the elitist bandwagon is so important? For losers like that the only way to be important is to make other people unimportant. And you do that by taking away their freedom, their wealth, their pursuit of happiness. And you do that by enlisting the multitudes of failure, each of whose vote counts as much as yours or mine, and play upon their envy. Liberals point at success and tell the failures "That can be yours. Merely empower me and I will make it so."

Fucking fuck, I say. For want of anything more grandiloquent.

Velociman:
You don't have to look any farther than the libs' maniacal obsession over anti- laws:
Anti smoking. (In California it's illegal to smoke on the beach.)

Forced helmets for bicycles, motorcycles.

Forced seatbelts.

Forced labels on food. (glad to know that battled water has no cholesterol)

Forced warnings: (this hardware store has chemicals that some study suggested maybe might possibly could, 'cause you never know perhaps cause cancer.)

The lead foil on the wine bottle contains lead.

Those who create nothing find a perverse pleasure in creating restrictions on other peoples' freedom.

RE: Velociman's comments that bear repeating. It's what's good for everybody -- in their clouded minds. It's like they think there is only so much freedom and if anyone has too much then someone else must be denied.

It is frustrating. The collectivists believe that most of us don't know what's best for us. They believe that an elite group can decide the direction for all of us stupid bitter clingers. Those elitists are usually academics or employees of the government. Mostly they are people who know nothing about business or producing anything of value, yet they are the only ones qualified to determine how much freedom I should have.
